HEPA Europe is een netwerk dat zich inzet voor de promotie van 'Health Enhancing Physical Activity'. Van woensdag 28 tot en met vrijdag 30 augustus vindt het 10e HEPA-congres plaats in Odense, Denemarken.
Knowledge Centre for Sports Netherlands (Kenniscentrum Sport) has been an active member of HEPA Europe since 2007. We have led working groups on children and adolescents, workplace promotion and, socially disadvantaged groups, and we are still actively involved in several working groups. In 2017 we are co-chair of the Working Group Active Ageing (with Liesbeth Preller as secretary). KCSportNL is the initiator of the Erasmus+ Sport project ‘Keep Youngsters Involved’. This is the first project funded with European resources and is based on the HEPA Europe network We hosted the HEPA conference and annual meeting in Amsterdam in 2011. HEPA Europe is a network which works for better health and wellbeing in the WHO European Region through more physical activity for all people. Its mission is to provide a forum for the advancement of health-enhancing physical activity (HEPA) research, policy and practice across the WHO European region.
HEPA Europe focus on population-based approaches for the promotion of health-enhancing physical activity using the best available scientific evidence. It encourages collaboration and partnerships between research, practice and related sectors to exchange, disseminate and share experience and knowledge.
HEPA Europe activities are based on WHO policy statements, such as the European Strategy on Physical Activity, the Global Strategy for Diet, Physical Activity and the Global Action Plan for Physical Activity.
